A not-so-well-kept secret in the Yalecrest community is that Bonneville Elementary is one of the top schools in the state. Over the last two years Bonneville has scored first in statewide testing and consistently been ranked as one of the state’s best public schools. Along with impressive test scores, Bonneville has more enrichment programs than the average public school. Students can expect to spend at least 3 hours a week immersed in supplemental art, science, music, and dance education. Bonneville Elementary is also the first school outside California to offer the YMCA’s Project Cornerstone, a character education and anti-bullying curriculum.
If Bonneville doesn’t seem like the right fit for your child, Salt Lake City School District is a parent-choice district. You can apply to send your child to any school you are interested in, including several dual-immersion, extended learning, or open classroom programs. Here is Bonneville’s own Donna Reid telling you in her own words how great our local school is and what your public school options are in the Yalecrest community.
