Wow! What a turnout. Thank you one and all for “rolling” out on a brisk, early spring morning to support the Laird Park Easter Egg Hunt. It’s been almost five years since the last Laird Park Easter Egg Hunt was held and we weren’t sure what kind of attendance we’d get after such a long hiatus. I think this picture says it all…
Once again you have proved that we live in the most amazing, supportive neighborhood around. What a community gathering! We gave away all of the 250 bags of Easter candy and ran out of craft supplies in the first 20 minutes! We apologize if you were one of those who came late and missed out on the craft and hunt. (We’re already planning to up the numbers for next year).
The hunt itself was a quick sprint for some and a slow (I’m sure methodical) dawdle for others; it was fun to see the children’s faces and mass of baskets bouncing around the field. The little Peep-mobiles provided by Eggs in the City were pretty egg-mazing as well. (Twinkies and Peeps, that’s some magic right there). The only thing more adorable than the craft was this little face.
We also had our special guest, the bunny du jour, on hand for photo opps. How cute are these little ones with Mr. Hopper? Even when they’re crying they’re cute! (Hopefully no long-term damage was done.)
Hopefully bystander and participant alike got the chance to kick back and listen to Bob, Blake and Kevin muse out chill, upbeat music. It made my Easter to hear “Peanuts” playing in the background as the kids sprinted off for the hunt.
I also hoped you noticed the cool, little Yalecrest Homes bags of candy we gave out at the hunt. I’m pretty excited about my new logo, and hopefully you’ll be seeing my new Yalecrest Homes signs popping up around the neighborhood soon.
It was a joy and pleasure to see parents and grandparents alike sharing the Easter weekend with their little ones, family and friends. I enjoyed meeting many new faces and hearing about Egg Hunts from years gone by. Many, many thanks to Harmon’s, Jolley’s and Eggs in the City. We couldn’t have done this without them.I look forward to being a part of the Laird Park Egg Hunt again next year. And mark your calendars for 2017, we already have a date!
